Squeeze ooey gooey slime, “pin the slime on the scientist”, ooze Ooblek, and enjoy a sensory experience like no other in our Slime Laboratory. Each child will receive a pair of slime goggles and will explore the properties of slime. Smocks or old clothes are recommended. Pizza and juice will be served.
Big Bug – Little Bug provides the perfect semi-structured environment for your little one to explore arts & crafts, games, stories and motor activities with a caring adult. Each class concludes with an inviting circle time to encourage group play. All participants must wear socks to promote a clean environment for our crawlers.
Tiny Bug Adventures encourages children and their caring adults to enjoy a unique learning and play experience. Weekly themes capture the interest of children and adults as they explore the Tiny Bug Adventures classroom. Activities include arts & crafts, music, movement, games, songs, stories and imaginative play.
Little Bug Alone is designed for older two and younger three-year-olds who have adjusted to taking classes independently. Children will enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities that focus on arts & crafts, music & movement, stories & songs and motor skill development. Each week brings a new theme to explore. Children enrolled in Little Bug Alone should be working towards bathroom independence. Pull-ups are permitted—parent/guardian must be available to change within fifteen minutes.
Camp Firefly caters to Elmhurst’s youngest campers. Daily activities include arts & crafts, stories, games, outdoor play and themed activities. Camp Firefly is the perfect way to ease your child’s transition into preschool or keep your preschooler active and engaged throughout the summer. Children must be able to use the restroom independently.
Spend your summer exploring the world without leaving Elmhurst. Discover deserts, rain forests, ponds, polar ice and savannas. Learn about each habitat and its physical features, weather and animal inhabitants through stories, arts & crafts, science experiments and outdoor activities.
Be a safe citizen in Elmhurst’s miniature Safety Town. Learn about tricycle, pedestrian, train, police, fire, electrical, pet and bus safety in addition to basic first aid. Course activities include guest speakers, the fire safety trailer, a bus safety field trip and guided play at Safety Town. Each child receives materials to extend safe learning at home. Camp concludes with a short Safety Town graduation ceremony and certificate presentation. Prior classroom experience recommended.
